The Old rectory is a classic Georgian rectory nestling in the tiny hamlet of Wheathill, listed in the doomsday book and perched between the Brown Clee and the Titterstone Clee hills. There are outstanding views in all directions. The house sits on a bridleway that leads directly to the Jack Mytton Way and other ancient byways. There are literally thousands of acres of riding country – along country lanes, through wooded valleys and over common grass land up to the heights of the Clee Hills, with virtually no need to go on a road.
We have 4 large loose boxes available and a lockable tack room with saddle racks and a washing machine. If you prefer your horse to live out then we provide individual paddocks separated by electric fencing.
We have two luxurious double bedrooms both with flat screen TV and DVD, both with en-suite bathrooms. Guests also have the use of the elegant drawing room with a warming log fire and the dining room which also has a log burning ceramic stove. We have a boot room where you can store muddy coats and boots –everyone has a peg and a boot locker. In the cellar we have a small sauna where you can ease away any aches and pains.
Choose what you want for breakfast – we take pride in giving you the very best from locally produced food and eggs from our own hens and ducks. We can also provide evening meals and picnic lunches – or if you prefer to eat out there is a very good local pub a mile away and two more within 4 miles.
If you are like the outdoor life, then you are also welcome to camp by arrangement. We can provide loos and showers and the use of the sauna
