Shropshire Marches Horse Trails venues in the Bishop’s Castle Area are situated in the hills of South West Shropshire close to the Welsh Border. This borderland is part of The Marches with spectacular scenery, giving you easy access to Mid Wales and the Herefordshire Marches.

The open moorland of The Long Mynd contrasts with the mystery of the craggy Stiperstones Ridge with the prominent Devil’s Chair. The River Onny flows within the area between the Stiperstones and Long Mynd. This area has been featured on BBC CountryFile several times during 2007. The Clun Forest to the south of Bishop’s Castle provides an ideal contrast to these areas with the ancient route / Drover’s Way leading into Wales known as the Kerry Ridgeway.

Our linked venues can provide you with circular and linear rides enabling you even after 3 – 5 days to still have much more to explore.
